Community
Woodworking doesn’t stay in the shop. Rutherford Woodworkers Club Inc. puts handmade work into local hands — especially kids at Christmas, and neighbors recovering from hard seasons.
Toys for Tots (Marine Corps League partnership)
We build handmade wooden toys for Toys for Tots, working with the Marine Corps League.
| ~Nov 2025 delivery | About 350 toys |
|---|---|
| 2026 goal | 400 toys |
| Build season | Builds often start around March |
Want to help cut, sand, assemble, finish, or haul a load of toys? Come to a meeting and ask how to plug into the build. Dues or signup rules for volunteering: ask at a meeting (not published here).
Christmas Cheer
The club has historically supported Christmas Cheer with toy donations. Current-year plans: confirm at a meeting.
Helene — “Memories in Wood”
After Hurricane Helene, the club offered “Memories in Wood” volunteer help: preserving storm-damaged wood as keepsakes. This was a public volunteer offer — not a claim that every request was fulfilled. Status of ongoing requests: TBD / ask at a meeting.
Other public collaborations & activities
Mentioned publicly in club context:
- Little libraries collaboration
- Power carving demos
- Burl harvesting / wood share
These are real themes the club has been associated with — not a guarantee of a public calendar. Details: meeting or Facebook (URL TBD).
How to get involved

- Follow Rutherford County Woodworkers on Facebook — [Facebook Page — URL TBD with Sam].
